What does a home school mom of three and breast cancer survivor do when she has a thriving boutique of unique clothing, gifts and jewelry? Why open a restaurant of course! Welcome back to the Chamber Corner. This week our featured Chamber business is Revival at the Depot. Christie and her team took over a spot that had been a previously popular restaurant and turned it into a small but inviting lunch and dinner locale. Not being a local, I am unfamiliar with the previous owner’s design, but I can tell you Christie has made it all her own. When you walk in, the first thing you’ll notice is the size of the restaurant. It seats 18 at most. That adds to the character. The deep, rich, emerald, green drapes accent a similar color in the chair cushions. A wood bar seats 4, and per my own experience, becomes a great place for strangers to become friends. When you sit down, you immediately feel invited to stay awhile, there is no air of being rushed. That’s just how Christie designed it. If you look above the comfy chair in the corner (which is perfect for snuggling a sleepy baby if the need should arise) you’ll find board games.  Yes, this restaurant is perfect for date night, but it’s also a great option for a family night. Business luncheons can also be hosted there. Whatever kind of situation you’re looking to fit, you’re sure to find it at Revival at the Depot.

The menu fits both the finnicky and the finest of tastes. Because the menu is seasonal things are often being changed up. This time of year you can find a classic BLT or Rosemary Lemon Tenderloins. A Grilled Cheese to transport you back to childhood or Southern Salmon Patties because you’ve had your fill of chicken nuggets lately. Just in the mood for an appetizer? Come get Pigs & Curd which is their own take on a sausage and cheese tray. Sides can be simple like French Fries or fancy like sauteed mushrooms. Dessert is waiting in the wings with a great cup of coffee, a latte or even a Cortado to finish off the evening perfectly. One of my favorite parts of the restaurant is a part you’ll never see. A microwave. There isn’t one. Nutrition and food quality are Christie’s top priorities.  Revival is open for both lunch and dinner. Reservations are important for evenings and lunch can get crazy, so calling your order in or getting it to go are great options. They are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 11-2 and 4:30-7:30 and Friday & Saturday from 11-2 and 4:30-8:30. You will find Revival at the Depot at 12440 Hwy 57 just west of Moscow. Our community is full of small, but fascinating finds and this is one of them. Remember to think local and shop Fayette first!
